1. I woke up at 3:40 and got on a little red cab and drove up the mountain. I got a little carsick and I wasn't feeling great that morning...I survived though!! And I feel like I am turning exactly into my mother. The outfit was comfy and great for the temple. Everyday I am looking more and more like Rachel. That is a compliment by the way!! Love you! The temple was amazing. And so worth it! I loved seeing the lights and then the sunrise and no one was there except for the chanting monks!! One of my favorite things on the trip so far.
2. Church is one of my other favorites. I loved comparing it to the temple earlier. The Buddhist temple was absolutely gorgeous. And very peaceful. I could feel the spirit there and it was a very clean and good place to be in. There was gold every where and lots of idols and incense burning. It was breath taking. But the second I walked in the doors of the simple chapel of the Chiang Mai 2 branch I felt at home. I couldn't help the tears welling up in my eyes. Dan is the bishop of his home Ward and it was so fun to ride a ride cab to church. The spirit was really strong and we got to listen to a confirmation. There was a translator the whole time. Quite a few Americans live in Chiang Mai. A lot of them are students. I saw Mary Fisher there. It was fun to sing in two different languages and I was so happy to be able to take the sacrament. I am lucky to be surrounded my so many wonderful friends on this trip, Mormon or not. But there is something special about the family and unity of the church. It was fast and testimony too so we really lucked out. I am already looking forward to taking he sacrament in Hong Kong. After church everyone wanted to go home except Brian wanted to stay for all three hours so dan stayed with him. The others wanted to go back to the hotel but there was this famous ancient temple a couple blocks away so me issac and Matt went there and walked home. I am glad we did! The coolest temple I have been too so far. It is 1000 years old!!!
3. The next activity probably wasn't the best for a Sunday... None of us really thought that one through. The days blur together here and we couldn't get a refund. Now comes the part where I am really turning into my mother... I almost threw up on the way there. I was so carsick!! And our driver was crazy. I felt pretty crappy. I guess that is what I get! The zip lines were so fun though. There was 32 of them and we really were in the middle of the jungle. The longest one was 600 meters and Shelby and I had to go together so we were heavy enough. We were going so fast and it was so fun. I don't have many pictures from that obviously. But maybe a few videos from the others. The drive home was much better! We also got a Thai buffet at the end... But they spelled it beffet! Haha! Oh for dinner we went to a place called lemongrass. So good!! Best Thai food I have had here! You can never go wrong with pad Thai! That might have been Saturday night now that I think of it.... But still! It all blurs together. I am having the time of my life though!! I miss you guys like crazy but as of right now I never want to come home! I am sure I will be ready to by the end of it thought love you!!
